I Don’t Even Know HIS Last Name!

May 24, 2008

I tuned in for American Idol Finale 2008,
mainly to watch the Davids.

By the end of the show though,
only one song that was really playing on the loop in my head.

Carrie Underwood’s ‘Last Name‘.

It tells a story about how a girl who got too drunk in Vegas,
hanged out with an unknown guy.
The next morning, she found a ring on her finger.

Yep, she married the guy
whom she doesn’t even know his last name.

So she left Vegas trying to erase the incident from memory.

Then it hit her,
she doesn’t even know HER last name!

Yeah, you can throw out the whole
“This song promotes indecent behavior etc etc.”

But I find this to be a very fun song.
A song telling a story of such irresponsible moments and
has its own comedic effect.

I’ll probably start listening to Carrie more often now.

Wahaha Wahaha!

April 12, 2008

Okay, yes, the title is very random.

But I just want to share a random music video here.

It has happened more than twice already
that when I’m feeling pretty bland,
this is the video clip that’ll at least just make me smile.

I’m not a fan of this group- Kanjani 8.
They’re much too wacky for me to handle.

The only reason I paid attention to this group at first was because of Ryo [the guy with green jacket].
No, please do not be fooled by his dorky self in this video.

When he’s in NEWS (his other band),
he’s a badass jerk.

He’s mean enough that the only words of comfort he offered to his friend when they were heartbroken was

“Oi, FAT Jin! Lose some weight already!”

Poor Fat Jin cried harder and ran away from the jerk.

Oddly, I’m attracted more to him because of that.

So here’s the video by Kanjani 8 - Wahaha (Yes, that IS the title of the song)
[English Subbed]

Yes, the video is cracky.
The humor of it have worn out after the third time I watched the video.

What uplifts me are the lyrics.

Here are some of my favorite lines in the song:

Sadness and worries
It seems that everyone has at least some of them.

It’s not just you, you know.

If I laugh, You will laugh.
So if You laugh, Someone else will laugh too!

This song just made me realize how very few songs there are in this world that states:

“Laughter Is Contagious!”

And it just cheers me up to see them laughing their neck off to this song.
Which just proves how contagious laughter is.

Keta Keta Keta Keta.

WAHAHA WAHAHA!
